Peat reduction plan signed in the Netherlands

turfvrij-tekent-convenant

Growing substrates will become more sustainable

The Netherlands is the 6th country in the world with an official peat reduction strategy! On November 18, two ministers (Piet Adema and Rob Jetten), various trade associations and we, as the only NGO, signed this groundbreaking agreement. The amount of peat in potting soil is gradually reduced. The plants we buy and even some of the food we eat will gradually become more environmentally friendly thanks to this agreement. A good day for the climate. A first step has been taken, but the road is certainly long.
